Basketball

Grades 1st-2nd will be placed on teams. Equal participation, fundamentals, and friendly competition. Boys league and girls league. Max of 32 players per division so sign up early! Parent/Volunteer Coaches will be needed! Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Baseball/Softball (1st - 2nd Grade) - 24-25 school year

Blastball

This program is a fun introduction to America’s favorite pastime of baseball/softball! Participants will have a BLAST as they learn to bat and field on teams of 4-6 players. No gloves are required but is recommended. There will be two sessions available. *Caregiver must participate with child. Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Brush & Slush

Enjoy a cold slushie or two as you paint your next art masterpiece! Participants will get creative as they learn about and utilize a variety of paint mediums on two quality small canvases. Bring it home, hang it up, impress everyone. Beginners welcome! Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Construction Kids

Participants will create awesome projects to take home in this creative experience. First project: a toolbox! Dr. Dish Competition - Winter Break Fun

The Dr. Dish Winter Competition will be a one-day event offering an exciting, fast-paced experience with drop-in registration and individual sign-ups. Players will compete in a double-elimination tournament, split into age groups of 4th-6th grade & 7th-8th grade. Throughout the tournament, participants will engage in structured shooting challenges, aiming to advance through the bracket! Show that you're the best shooter in town! Register day of event!

F.A.C. - Friday After Class

Flag Football

Are you ready for some football? You are invited to participate in this instructional program. Equal participation and fun for everyone. Participants will be placed on teams and assigned coaches. Volunteer Coaches/Parents will be needed! This program cannot run without your help! Practices for K division are at Tilford. Practices for 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th divisions are at Kiwanis Park. Games are held Sunday nights at Karr Field. Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Floor Hockey

Work up a sweat hitting a puck around just like the big leaguers but without the skates and ice! Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

HitTrax Baseball and Softball Leagues

Each night, play a half-hour game with your teammates. Softball games between 4 -6 pm. Baseball games between 6-8 pm. Teams of 4, all team members must be in the same grade. Max 8 teams per league. HitTrax will accommodate each team to their skill level for parity amongst age groups. Pitching machine will be used. Own bat and helmet required. Tournament on March 8! Must pre-register.

HitTrax Competition - Winter Break Fun

Step into the cage, track your stats in real-time, and compete in a double elimination format. Each player gets two chances to stay in the game, so bring your best swing and aim for the win. Get ready for some friendly competition—see you in the cage! Register day of event!

Jr. Pickleball Clinic

Curious what this crazy game is you see people playing around town? Always wanted to play but afraid because you don’t know the rules or how to play? We’ve got the place for you! Live Healthy Iowa Kids Track Meet

Let your children race to the finish at our local Live Healthy Iowa Kids Track Meet! Ages 7-14 year olds who finish first place in their event will be able to race at the Championship Meet in Marshall town. Must pre-register by May 2. NO RAIN DATE.

Tackle Football

A division of the Youth Sports Foundation is available to any Vinton and Shellsburg area youth entering into the 5th or 6th grade in the fall of 2025. The tackle football program begins in August and includes introduction skills for tackle football and a six game schedule. Games are held on Sundays, beginning in September. Registration is in April! Fee: $200

 

T-Ball (Kindergarten) - 24-25 school year

A great way to get your child introduced to the game of baseball. Learn the basic skills and be a part of a team. Volunteer Coaches/Parents will be needed! Two practices and four games. Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Tot Lot Gym

Romp, stomp and play! We have the setup to meet your children’s activity and social needs this winter. With toddler toys ranging from ball and blocks to tunnels and mats, there is certainly no shortage of action here. Designed specifically for children pre-school age and younger.

World Series Hit Trax Baseball Tournament

A Hit Trax Tournament is an exciting blend of virtual gaming and real-life baseball action, offering players the ultimate competitive experience. Imagine stepping into the cage, but instead of just hitting into a net, every swing is captured by advanced sensors that project your hit in real-time onto a digital stadium. You can smash home runs in Fenway Park or battle it out in a virtual World Series setting, all while stats like exit velocity, launch angle, and distance are tracked and displayed. We will provide pizza at noon! We will also have our Dr. Dish basketball rebounding machines set up on the courts while you wait.
