Membership Guidelines: Season passes are non transferable and are used only by the patron(s) assigned. Immediate family members are those individuals who are family members and who live at the same residence (maximum of two adults) are eligible for a family pass. Children on a family pass must be under the age of 21 and related to one or both the household adults as offspring or by marriage, adoption, foster care placement or legal guardianship.
Childcare Provider Pass MUST be purchased in addition to a Family Pass. Childcare provider must be at least 16 years old. The pass can only be used when the childcare provider attends the pool with the children.
Pool Rental
The swimming pool may be rented for private functions during non-open hours. All rentals must be arranged in advance at least two weeks prior to the requested reservation date. The minimum fee is due at time of booking.
Saturday rental time slots: 9:30 - 11:30 AM and 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Sunday rental time slots: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM, 5:30 - 7:30 PM

Safety Check
The pool will be cleared everyday at 3:00 PM for 15 minutes for a safety check and rest period. Everyone must keep out of the water completely with the exception of baby pool participants.
Hot or cold?
The pool will not open if the air temperature is less than 70 degrees. It will also close if there are not at least 15 swimmers within the first twenty minutes upon opening or if after being open for one hour there are less than 15 swimmers. The pool will also close for any reason deemed necessary by the State of Iowa Department of Public Health.
Swimming Pool Rules
The pool staff is NOT a babysitting service - Please keep a watchful eye on your children at all times. Children under the age of eight will NOT be allowed in any VPRD facility without the supervision of a guardian or parent. The guardian must be at least 15 years of age. The guardian must be with child at all times.
Swim diaper - Infants/children not toilet trained must wear swim diapers under swim suits, NO regular diapers. All diapers MUST be changed in the restrooms – NOT ON THE POOL DECK.
Have children take regular bathroom breaks - Without these breaks they can easily forget to go in the proper place.
Don’t swim today - If you do not feel well and have diarrhea or the flu today or in the past week, do NOT go swimming. You may be a carrier for bacteria which can infect others, even though the pool water is chlorinated.
Shower before using the pools - By showering immediately before swimming in our pools you will remove foreign matter like sweat, dirt, loose hair from your body and keep them out of the pools you and others will swim in.
Toys and floatation devices - Fins, snorkels, mermaid suits, large floatation devices are prohibited. No face masks that cover the nose are allowed. Allowed: life vests/preserves or swim suits with floatation pads, in the shallow end of the main pool, guardians must be within arms length away.
Water bottles only - No food or beverages may be brought in with the exception of plastic water bottles filled with water.
Concessions for sale - All concessions items for purchase must stay in concession area.
Baby pool limitations - The baby pool is only for small children (4 & under) and their parents.
Test for diving area - Patrons must demonstate to pool manager the ability to swim two widths before entering diving area.
Diving - Head first dives are not permitted in depths under 6 ft. No back dives, twirls or flips are permitted off side deck.
Zero Tolerance - Our facility has a zero tolerance for offensive language, fights, theft and other similar issues. However, our staff cannot be everywhere to hear or see everything that is said or done. Please help us keep this a family oriented facility by reporting issues to the managers so we can address them with our patrons in question.
Tobacco and alcohol free - By state law smoking is prohibited in public facilities. This includes our parking lot where cigarette butts and children with bare feet can often lead to serious injury. Help us keep the facility clean by not using smokeless tobacco. Alcohol is prohibited on site and anyone who exhibits signs they have been drinking will be asked to leave for their own safety.
No refunds - We reserve the right to close the pool due to inclement weather, emergency situations, mechanical problems or low pool attendance. No refunds or rain checks will be issued. The pool manager may close the entire pool complex, or any portions of the pool complex for any safety or maintenance reason.
Everyone pays - Non-swimmers who wish to enter past the first fence must pay regular daily admission fees.
Secure your personal items - Personal belongings may be brought onto the deck in a bag if they are not secured in a locked locker. The VPRD is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
Cooperate with the staff - By purchasing a swim membership or paying the daily fee, you are agreeing to follow all the rules which have been established for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons. The staff is there to assist and aid all those using our facility.
Follow the rules - The rules the staff will be enforcing have been developed over the life of the facility. It is unfortunate but the majority of the rules have been written to address problems we have encountered over the years. By following the rules our staff can spend more time watching for those is need of assistance.
