Basketball - 2026
Grades 1st-2nd will be placed on teams. Equal participation, fundamentals, and friendly competition. Boys league and girls league. Max of 32 players per division so sign up early! Parent/Volunteer Coaches will be needed! Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Basketball Skills Camp - 2026
Boys and girls in grades 3rd-5th will learn the fundamentals of basketball with our high school head coaches! Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Baseball/Softball (1st - 2nd Grade) - 25-26 school year
Participants will be placed on teams and assigned coaches. Boys & girls play together. Parent/Volunteer Coaches are needed to make this program work! Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Blastball - 2026
This program is a fun introduction to America’s favorite pastime of baseball/softball! Participants will have a BLAST as they learn to bat and field on teams of 4-6 players. No gloves are required but is recommended. There will be two sessions available. *Caregiver must participate with child. Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Brush & Slush - 2026
Enjoy a cold slushie or two as you paint your next art masterpiece! Participants will get creative as they learn about and utilize a variety of paint mediums on two quality small canvases. Bring it home, hang it up, impress everyone. Beginners welcome! Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Cheer Camp - 2026
V/S Cheer Coach and cheerleaders will be hosting a cheer camp! It will take place over 1 week that will include 2 practices and 1 performance date! Practice is held at the Rec Center. Final cheering debut held at a Friday night V/S Freshman/Sophomore football game!

C.K. Quick Pro - 2026

Construction Kids - 2026
Participants will create awesome projects to take home in this creative experience. First project: a toolbox! There will be safety education about the use of many basic hand tools as well as hands on learning. ***Parents are welcome to stay and participate. Available only for V/S School District youth. Flag Football - 2026
Are you ready for some football? You are invited to participate in this instructional program. Equal participation and fun for everyone. Participants will be placed on teams and assigned coaches. Volunteer Coaches/Parents will be needed! This program cannot run without your help! Practices are at Kiwanis Park. All games are held Sunday nights at Karr Field. Jr. Pickleball Clinic - 2026
Curious what this crazy game is you see people playing around town? Always wanted to play but afraid because you don’t know the rules or how to play? We’ve got the place for you! Summer Camp - 2026
Activities will include crafts, games, and tons of fun! Held rain or shine at the Hesson Shelter. In addition to being at Riverside Park, we plan to host camp at various locations throughout town! This includes the Skate Center, Kiwanis Park, and the library! Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Tackle Football - 2026
A division of the Youth Sports Foundation is available to any Vinton and Shellsburg area youth entering into the 5th or 6th grade in the fall of 2026. The tackle football program begins in August and includes introduction skills for tackle football and a six game schedule. Games are held on Sundays, beginning in September. Registration is in April! Fee: $200
T-Ball (Kindergarten) - 25-26 school year
A great way to get your child introduced to the game of baseball. Learn the basic skills and be a part of a team. Volunteer Coaches/Parents will be needed! Two practices and four games. Available only for V/S School District youth. Must pre-register.

Track Meet (Live Healthy Iowa Kids Track Meet) - 2026
Kids ages 5-14 years old get to test their speed and strength! Ages 7-14 years old who finish first place in their event may compete at the Championship Meet in Clear Lake! Must pre-register by May 1.

Tot Lot Gym
Romp, stomp and play! We have the setup to meet your children’s activity and social needs this winter. With toddler toys ranging from ball and blocks to tunnels and mats, there is certainly no shortage of action here. Designed specifically for children pre-school age and younger.
